Before undertaking a trip such as this, there are several stages you go through. First the dreaming, one day I would like to etc., then slowly the realisation that you can do it, then the loose planning, then the bookings, then the set in concrete stage and finally, holy cow we are running out of time to get ready stage.
For a bit of background, we have been motorhoming for some eight years now but mostly taking a long weekend off work each month to attend Club events with the occasional two or three week journey to a CMCA rally but rarely having the time to really take our time and do what motorhomers can do best, and that is taking our time. Since retiring eighteen months ago we have learned to slow down and enjoy the trip as much as the destination and have had a few shorter trips enjoying life and leisure.
This time we are determined to have no schedule except to get to the ferry on time to cross to Tassie and get back again, everything else is fluid and we will take it day by day.
Well at least that is the plan; to have no plan.
I have often threatened to grow a beard (much to Wendy's disgust) while I am away so this time I've started early, wonder what it will look like in four or five months time, or if I'll get divorced and lose the beard. (Or maybe it will drive me nuts and I'll shave it off)
Hi Arthur & Wendy
ReplyDeleteThinking of you both and wishing you safe travelling, wonderful experiences, good health and happiness. Will be watching the growth of that beard - good luck Wendy.
